Canopy for the Next Century will provide students with leadership skills that encourage environmental stewardship as well as deliver age appropriate education on the proper care and planting of trees.

Using an application process with criteria based on environmental impact, students will have the opportunity to plant TWO trees at a local school campus to commemorate our state’s Centennial. Students, teachers and parents may nominate their school through an application process with criteria based on environmental impact addressing one or all of the following:
- How Trees affect the global environment
- Awareness and sustainability
- Food cultivation
- Tree biology
- Tree care and maintenance
Planting Timeline:
Due to the varying temperatures around the state, the optimal time to plant a tree varies. We will provide each region of Arizona with a list of ideal planting times. Schools will have the opportunity to choose their top 3 planting dates. Plantings will be scheduled accordingly.
